What is an Extended Reporting Period Endorsement?

This is an endorsement that is purchased when a claims made policy is no longer in effect. An ERP or Tail endorsement extends the time frame in which a claim may be reported. Each carrier has different options for the length of the tail that may be purchased, but the most common options are 1, 2, 3 or Unlimited years. This endorsement does not extend the policy, it only extends the time that you have to report a claim.
